Abstract
ObjectiveTo observe the curative effects of double filtration plasmapheresis(DFPP) with plasma exchange(PE) in the Guillain Barré syndrome(GBS).
MethodsA total of 76 GBS cases from January 2006 to January 2016 in Blood Purification Centre of China-Japan Friendship Hospital were enrolled in this soudy. On the basis of different methods of treatment, 76 patients were divided into PE group (n=36) and DFPP group (n=40). All the patients were given routine treatment, PE group was added plasma exchange treatment and DFPP group was combined with double filtration plasmapheresis.Laboratory examination results and neural function improvement were recorded according to clinical signs and symptoms(Hughes scores) before and after treatment.
ResultsThere were statistically significant differences in both group in terms of laboratory examination and Hughes scores before and after treatment(P<0.05). There was no statistical difference between the PE and DFPP groups(P>0.05). On the neural symptom recovery time, patients in the DFPP group was slightly better than in the PE group, but there was no statistical difference(P>0.05).
ConclusionPE and DFPP are both effective treatments for GBS. DFPP in the clinical treatment process is not limited by the number of fresh plasma, the timeliness and continuity of treatment can be guaranted.
