Effects of 125I to thyroid health status of nurses

Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of 125I to thyroid health status of nurses in the 125I implanted wards.
MethodsThyroid ultrasonography and thyroid function tests were carried out on the 125I implanted ward and a general ward in our hospital, and the results were statistically analyzed.
ResultsAbnormal results of thyroid ultrasonography were 24 cases in 125I implanted ward and 29 cases in the general ward, while the thyroid function test abnormalities were 7 cases and 6 cases respectively (P>0.05).
ConclusionsIn the case of the necessary protective measures, there is no significant effect of 125I on the thyroid health status of nurses in the 125I implanted wards.
