Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effects of transitional care in discharged patients with double "J" tube after surgery of ureteral calculus.
MethodsFrom January 2016 to January 2017, we selected 90 discharged patients with double "J" tube after surgery of ureteral calculus. All of the patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 45 cases in each group. Patients of control group accepted routine nursing. Patients of observation group were treated with transitional care after discharge. We compared the incidence of complications, activities of daily living (ADL) of patients when discharging hospital, two and four weeks after discharge in two groups.
ResultsAfter discharge, there were two case of complications with 8.89% for the incidence in observation group; however, there were 19 cases of complications with 42.22% for the incidence in control group; and the difference was significant (χ2=13.141, P<0.01) . The score of ADL of patients in observation group was (54.63±3.72) and (87.86±6.29) respectively two and four weeks after discharge significantly higher than those in control group (t=20.663, 14.088; P<0.01) .
ConclusionsThe transitional care for discharged patients with double "J" tube after surgery of ureteral calculus can reduce the incidence of complications and improve patients' ADL after discharge. It is worth to be widely generalized and applied in clinic.
