Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effects of continuing nursing intervention on preventing premature myocardial infarction caused by coronary heart disease (CHD) .
MethodsTotally 80 patients with premature CHD admitted in the Department of Cardiology, Daqing Oilfield General Hospital from January 2015 to January 2016 were selected using convenient sampling and divided into the intervention group (n=40) and the control group (n=40) according to the odd or even number of medical records. Totally 110 patients with myocardial infarction caused by CHD admitted in the Department of Cardiology in the same hospital between January and December 2014 were reviewed. A Cox model was developed to predict the risk factors associated with myocardial infarction in premature CHD patients. Patients in the intervention group received primary/secondary, group/individual and online/offline nursing interventions as well as follow-up continuing nursing interventions specially for the risk factors of myocardial infarction, while patients in the control group received only conventional health education before discharge. The risk of myocardial infarction was compared between the two groups.
ResultsThere was statistical difference in the incidence risk rate of myocardial infarction between the two groups of premature CHD patients (χ2=10.450; P<0.01) ; and the risk of myocardial infarction in the intervention group was low (RR=0.417) .
ConclusionsContinuing nursing interventions specially for the risk factors have significant effects on preventing myocardial infarction in CHD patients.
