Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of stereotactic radiosurgery on elderly patients with advanced lung cancer and the prognostic factors.
MethodsFifty-seven elderly patients with lung cancer were selected. After admission, stereotactic radiotherapy was performed. The treatment effect and incidence of adverse reactions during radiotherapy was observed.
ResultsAmong the 57 patients, complete remission in 0 case, partial remission in 18 cases, disease control in 29 cases, progression in 10 cases, and the total effective rate was 31.58% (18/57), the disease control rate was 82.46% (47/57). During radiation treatment, nausea and vomiting in 14 cases, loss of appetite occurred in 17 cases, skin itching occurred in 11 cases, eczema occurred in 9 cases. There was no significant correlation of sex and stereotactic radiotherapy dosage with the prognosis of patients with advanced lung cancer (P>0.05). Age, tumor stage and primary radiation dosage were the important factors influencing the prognosis (P<0.05).
ConclusionsStereotactic radiotherapy has obvious clinical effect on elderly patients with advanced lung cancer and small adverse reactions. Age, tumor stage and primary radiation dosage are the important factors influencing the prognosis of patients with advanced lung cancer.
