Abstract
ObjectiveTo compare and analyze the clinical efficacy of ultrasound scaling combined with drug therapy and flap pedicled combined with guided bone regeneration (GBR) in the treatment of peri-implant infection.
MethodsTwenty-five implants of 22 patients with peri-implantitis treated in Dental Hospital of Kaifeng from December 2015 to December 2016 were selected. According to the treatment methods, patients were divided into treatment group (11 cases with 12 implants, treated by ultrasound scaling combined with drug therapy) and operation group (11 cases with 13 implants, treated by flap pedicled combined with GBR). The changes of pocket depth (PD), gingival sulcus bleeding index (SBI), plaque index (PLI) and X-ray data of the two groups before and after treatment were analyzed and recorded.
ResultsThe levels of PD, SBI and PLI decreased 1 month and 6 months after treatment in treatment group and operation group. The height of alveolar ridge around implants increased 1 month and 6 months after treatment in operation group, and the height of alveolar ridge around implants in treatment group 6 months after treatment was higher than that before operation, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
ConclusionsBoth methods have good therapeutic effect on peri-implant infection, but the flap pedicled combined with GBR can promote integration of the implant and bone.
