Abstract
ObjectiveTo compare the effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) and TACE combined with psychro-circulation percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy (PMCT) in treatment of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
MethodsA total of 150 patients with HCC underwent TACE and PEI and 160 patients received TACE and psychro-circulation PMCT. Four weeks after the procedure, dynamic enhanced CT scanning was performed for check.
ResultsOne month after the treatment, the local control rate of the tumor for TACE combined with PEI or psychro-circulation PMCT was 70.00% and 87.67%, respectively. TACE+PMCT group was superior to TACE+PEI group (P<0.05).
ConclusionsTACE combined with psychro-circulation PMCT is an effective therapies for HCC, which can be regarded as an ideal alternative therapy for patients who have failed to respond to TACE alone.
