Development of nursing assessment tools based on the Omaha system for hospital chronic musculoskeletal pain patients

Abstract
ObjectiveIn the framework of Omaha issue system, nursing assessment sheet was developed which was suitable for clinical nursing of patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain. It can realize the assessment of existing and potential nursing problems of patients, and provide evidence for establishing clinical nursing plan and carrying out targeted nursing.
MethodsBased on Omaha problem system and through structured interview, nursing problems of patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain were screened. Delphi method was applied to revise the nursing assessment sheet for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain.
ResultsThe authoritative coefficient, determination coefficient and familiarity coefficient was 0.75, 0.79, 0.86, respectively. The coordination coefficient of the second-dimensions was 0.342. The nursing assessment sheet for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain with 4 first-level indicators, 25 secondary indexes and 106 tertiary index was established.
ConclusionsThe nursing assessment sheet for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain showed good expert recognition.
