Abstract
Objective To observe the changes of procalcitonin (PCT),C-reactive protein (CRP),high mobility group box protein 1 (HMGB1) in the course of acute pancreatitis (AP),investigate the relations of PCT,CRP and HMGB1 with the severity of AP,and the effect of these factors on prognosis of AP.Methods The enrolled included 21 cases of the severe AP (SAP),25 cases of mild AP (MAP),and 28 cases of normal controls. The levals of PCT,CRP and HMGB1 in each group were dynamically detected respectively at 1 st,3rd,5th and 7th day after admission, and the correlations between these indexes and the severity and prognosis of AP were analyzed. Results The PCT,CRP,and HMGB1 levels in AP patients were significantly higher than those in normal control group (P < 0.05),and there was significant difference between SAP and MAP.Conclusion The dynamic monitoring of PCT,CRP and HMGB1 levels in PA patients is of great importance clinically.
