Abstract
ObjectiveTo evaluate the merits and demerits as well as clinical value of two different approaches (transperitoneal vs.retroperitoneal) of ureteroureterostomy.
MethodsRetrospectively reviewed 68 cases of laparoscopic ureteroureterostomy from January 2010 to August 2016 in Xiangya hospital. Of which, 26 cases underwent transperitoneal approach and 42 cases underwent retroperitoneal approach. The differences between the two groups were compared and statistically analyzed in regard to location, perioperative data, postoperative complications and follow-up data.
ResultsThe two groups had statistical significance in operating location, suturing time, anal first-exhausting time and hypercapniao occurrence rate. There was no statistical significant difference in other operating data or follow-up data.
ConclusionsUpper and middle ureter lesions can be operated by both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal routes, while lower-ureteral lesions is only suitable for transperitoneal route. The suturing time and hypercapniao occurrence rate of transperitoneal route are less than retroperitoneal route, while the anal first-exhausting time has the opposite result. Except for the differences mentioned above, there is no statistical significance in other operating data or follow-up data.
