Application of TCM clinical nursing pathway and video health education in patients with high risk of diabetic feet

Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of TCM clinical nursing pathway combined with video health education for patients with high risk of diabetic foot.
MethodsSixty patients with high risk of diabetic foot were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the admission order, 30 for each group. The control group received routine health education. The observation group were treated by TCM clinical nursing pathway and took video health education. The self-management ability, improvement of foot skin, and quality of life score of the two groups were compared.
ResultsAfter intervention, the score of self-management ability was better in observation group than in the control group [(21.97 ± 5.23) vs. (15.83 ± 5.04)], with a statistical difference. The skin improvement and quality of life scores were better in the observation group than in the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).
ConclusionsTCM clinical nursing pathway combined with video health education for patients with high risk of diabetic foot can improve their self-management ability, foot skin condition, and quality of life and prevent the occurrence and development of diabetes.
