Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate and analyze the current situation of rehabilitation medical service capacity of medical institutions in Foshan City, and put forward improvement measures.
Methods Through the distribution of investigation forms, experts' on-the-spot investigation, telephone interview, institutional discussion, expert consultation, and other forms of investigation to check the data, the opinions and suggestions of various medical institutions on the capacity-building of rehabilitation medical services were collected, and the investigation data was analyzed.
Results In Foshan City, 78.80% and 87.96% of the medical institutions had rehabilitation medicine department and provided rehabilitation services. The number of beds in rehabilitation medicine department accounted for 7.17% of the total number of beds in medical institutions, the proportion was 3.25% in grade III general hospitals and 6.52% in grade II general hospitals. 7.16% of them were registered as rehabilitation doctors. There were no enough rehabilitation therapists in grade II and below general hospitals, lack of rehabilitation engineering and psychotherapists. Rehabilitation service personnel had few opportunities to go out for training and study in some hospitals.
ConclusionsThe three-level rehabilitation medical service system of Foshan City has already taken shape, and the rehabilitation service capacity of medical institutions is in the top level in China. There are still some problems such as insufficient overall rehabilitation service capacity, lack of high-level grade III rehabilitation specialized hospital, lack of professional rehabilitation personnel, further improvement of professional level and management of rehabilitation medicine department, two-way referral, hierarchical diagnosis and treatment.
