Progress of clinical treatment for spasmodic torticollis

Abstract
Spasmodic torticollis belongs to a refractory dystonia, the etiology is ambiguous, the pathogenesis is complex, and the clinical treatment method is limited. In recent years, deep brain stimulation, accessory nerve microvascular decompression and other surgical treatment methods for the spasmodic torticollis has been applied, and these have deepened to the understanding of the clinical treatment. This article reviews domestic and foreign literatures, and summarizes the latest progress in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of spasmodic torticollis, especially the surgical treatment, to provide more reference for the clinical treatment.
