Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the association between IL-1B gene-31 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)and susceptibility and severity of EV71 HFMD.
MethodsThe genotype of IL-1B gene-31 SNP was determined in EV71 HFMD(n=1196, including 801 mild cases, 395 severe cases)and healthy control group(HC, n=573)with TaqMan assay in a case-control study. (1)To explore the association between-31 SNP and susceptibility to EV71 HFMD; (2)To explore the association between-31 SNP and susceptibility to EV71 HFMD in different sex population; (3)To explored the association between-31 SNP and severity to EV71 HFMD.
Results(1)IL-1B gene-31 T allele frequency was significantly higher in EV71 HFMD than that in HC.(2)IL-1B gene-31 T allele frequency was significantly higher in EV71 HFMD than in HC for male population.(3)The IL-1B gene-31 T is not associated with the severity of EV71 HFMD.
ConclusionThe IL-1B gene-31 T allele was associated with susceptibility to EV71 HFMD, but was not associated with the severity of EV71 HFMD, especially, the IL-1B gene-31 T allele was associated with susceptibility to EV71 HFMD for male population.
