Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the application value of ECMO in plateau areas and the feasibility of ECMO combined with air transport for critical illness.
MethodsPatients with respiratory and cardiac arrest caused by high altitude pulmonary edema admitted to the Emergency ICU of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital on July 8, 2019 were enrolled as the research object. The effect of ECMO combined with air transport on the treatment efficacy and prognosis was investigated.
ResultsAfter ECMO combined with air transport, the patient's heart and lung functions were significantly improved, and his consciousness became awake. The Glasgow-Pittsburgh Cerebral Performance Score (CPC) score was 1 point.
ConclusionsECMO combined with air transport has a clear curative effect in the treatment of respiratory and cardiac arrest caused by high altitude pulmonary edema, with a good prognosis and great application prospect.
