Effects of PDCA nursing management in the prevention of pressure injury in Operating Room

Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effects of plan-do-check-action (PDCA) nursing management in the prevention of pressure injury in Operating Room.
MethodsFrom February 2017 to February 2018, this study selected 100 surgery patients in Operating Room of Yiwu Central Hospital of Zhejiang Province. All of patients were divided into observation group and control group according to the operation time, 50 cases in each group. Control group carried out the routine nursing management, while observation group implemented the PDCA nursing management model. This study compared the incidence of pressure injury between two groups, and nursing quality score of Operating Room nurses before and after the implementation of PDCA management mode.
ResultsThe incidence of pressure injury of patients in observation group was lower than that in control group (P<0.05) ; the nursing quality scores after the implementation of PDCA management mode were higher than those before with statistical differences (P<0.05) .
ConclusionsPDCA nursing management can reduce the incidence of pressure injury among patients in Operating Room and improve the nursing management of Operating Room .
