Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of continuous nursing under information-knowledge-attitude-practice(IKAP) theory on the self-management ability, treatment compliance and psychological state of patients with diabetic retinitis (DR).
MethodsA total of 136 patients with DR who were treated in this hospital from February 2019 to February 2021 were selected as the research objects, and were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 68 cases each according to the odd and even numbering method. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received continuous nursing under IKAP theory. The self-management ability and treatment compliance of the two groups of patients were compared, and the changes in the psychological state of the patients before and after intervention were analyzed.
ResultsAfter 3 months of intervention, the scores and total scores in the self-care ability scale of the two groups were significantly improved, but the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group at the same point, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the intervention for 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months, the compliance of the two groups of patients out of hospital showed a gradual decline, but the compliance score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group at the same point, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores of the two groups of patients decreased significantly, but the SAS and SDS scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
ConclusionsContinuity of care under IKAP theory can improve the self-care ability of DR patients, strengthen the compliance of out-of-hospital treatment, effectively reduce patients' bad mood, improve psychological state, and benefit patients' recovery.
