Abstract
In the context of high-quality development of public hospitals, the group development of hospitals is an important way to deepen reform of the medical and health care system, which can effectively optimize resource allocation, improve hospital operation efficiency, and promote the sinking of high-quality medical resources. From 2018 to 2023, West China Second Uniersity Hospital of Sichuan University coordinated the establishment of West China Women and Children′s Medical Group by Sichuan Children′s Hospital, Women and Children′s Hospital of Xizang Autonomous Region, People′s Hospital of Chengdu High-tech Zone, Women and Children′s Hospital of Chengdu High-tech Zone, and Women and Children′s Hospital of Pidu District of Chengdu. The medical group established an " integrated and diversified" organizational management structure led by government cooperation in medical services, created a " large specialty, small comprehensive" clinical specialty, implemented " modular and homogeneous" human resource management, promoted " intelligent and digital" information construction, implemented a " budgeted and shared" operational management mechanism, strengthened the connotation construction of " high-quality and multi-level", in order to achieve integrated management of the medical group. After the practice for 6 years, West China Women and Childern′s Medical Group had built a total of 11 clinical specialties, 13 children′s clinical centers, and 6 diagnosis and treatment platforms, initially achieving the sinking of high-quality resources across provinces and regions, fully leveraging the advantages of each specialty of the group hospitals, establishing a group of maternal and child specialties covering the entire life cycle of women and children, forming a situation of resource sharing, coordinated management, and diversified development. This practice can provide references for promoting high-quality and sustainable development of public hospital medical groups in China.
