Influence of nursing intervention basing on mindfulness-based stress reduction on cancer-related fatigue in lung cancer patients

Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the influence of nursing intervention basing on mindfulness-based stress reduction on cancer-related fatigue in lung cancer patients.
MethodsBy convenience sampling, patients with lung cancer who were treated with surgery and chemotherapy in the Department of Thoracic Surgery in a class Ⅲ grade A tumor hospital from May 2015 to May 2016 were selected, and were divided, according to their time of admission into observation group and control group, each with 36 cases. During their stay in the hospital, patients in both groups received routine nursing care and health education in Department of Thoracic Surgery, besides which, patients in the observation group received nursing intervention basing on mindfulness-based stress reduction. Before and after intervention, the cancer-related fatigue scores of the two groups were compared.
ResultsThere were 33 valid samples in the observation group, and 34 in the control group. Before the intervention, scores in revised piper fatigue scale and its dimensions the patients got in the two groups showed no statistical difference (P>0.05) ; while after the intervention, scores in dimensions of revised piper fatigue scale patients got in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05) .
ConclusionsNursing intervention basing on mindfulness-based stress reduction can effectively lower the patients' cancer-related fatigue, and improve their quality of life.
