Abstract
ObjectiveTo construct a training model for oral nursing talents jointly by medical staff, nursing staff and educators, and gradually establish and improve the training program for oral nursing talents.
MethodsThe intern nurses from Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University from July 2018 to May 2019 were divided into two groups. The research group included 72 nursing students from the pilot class for industry-education integration reform jointly developed by our college and Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, who were trained by a collaborative model of medical staff and educators. The control group included 59 intern nurses from other nursing schools, who were trained by the traditional model. Questionnaires and interviews were used to perform statistical analysis on the core competencies after internship of the two groups of oral nursing students, including attitude, interpersonal communication ability, management ability, professional practice ability, critical thinking ability, education/consultation ability, and professional development ability.
ResultsThe 7 ability scores of the research group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P< 0.05) .
ConclusionsIn order to promote the development of stomatology, it is necessary to attach great importance to the cultivation of stomatological nurses in nursing colleges and universities, strengthen the collaboration between medical staff and educators, build a new model of oral nurse training based on four-hand operation technology, formulate talent training programs that can significantly improve the core competence of stomatological nurses, connect the research results with clinical practice teaching, and promote this innovative model widely.
