Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of family-centered nursing model on physical development and feeding status of premature infants.
MethodsConvenience sampling was used to select 201 premature infants and their parents admitted to the Department of Neonatology, First Hospital of Qinhuangdao of Hebei Province from January 2017 to October 2019 as the research object. Research objects were divided into intervention group and control group with the random number table method, of which 99 cases were in intervention group and 102 cases were in control group. Premature infants in control group received routine nursing after birth, and parents were instructed in routine feeding and parenting methods. Intervention group implemented a family-centered nursing model on this basis, followed up for one year. We compared the physical examination indexes, feeding status, mother's postpartum depression rate, and nursing satisfaction of two groups of premature infants at birth, discharge, 1, 6, and 12 months of age.
ResultsThere were no statistically significant differences in the length, weight, and head circumference between intervention group and control group at birth, discharge, and 1 month of age (P>0.05) . At the age of 6, 12 months, the length, weight, and head circumference of intervention group were higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) . At 1, 6, and 12 months of age, the breastfeeding rate of intervention group was higher than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) . The postpartum depression rates of mothers in intervention group were lower than those in control group, the nursing satisfaction of intervention group was higher than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) .
ConclusionsThe family-centered nursing model can provide an effective support for the parents of premature infants, which is beneficial to promote the physical development of premature infants and improve the feeding status.
