Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore effects of self-care ability education and guidance based on WeChat management platform on patients with gastroenterostomy.
MethodsFrom October 2018 to October 2020, a total of 66 patients with gastroenterostomy who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected as the research objects by the convenient sampling method. The randomized and single-blind method were used to divide them into the control group and the study group, with 33 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, while the study group was given self-care ability education and guidance based on the WeChat management platform. The scores of Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale (ESCA) and City of Hope-Quality of Life-Ostomy Questionnaire-Chinese Version (COH-QOL-OQ) of patients were compared before and after nursing between the two groups, and the incidence of complications during nursing was compared between the two groups.
ResultsAfter the nursing, the ESCA and COH-QOL-OQ scores of patients in the study group were higher than those before the nursing and those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01) . The incidence of complications in the study group was 6.06% (2/33) , which was lower than 27.27% (9/33) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) .
ConclusionsImplementing self-care ability education and guidance based on the WeChat management platform in the nursing of patients with gastroenterostomy can improve their self-care ability, reduce the occurrence of complications and improve quality of life.
