Nursing recommendations on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for adults in Shandong Province

Abstract
ObjectiveTo formulate the Nursing Recommendations on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation for Adults in Shandong Province (referred to as Recommendations) .
MethodsBased on a systematic literature review, combined with the work experience of clinical nursing experts, the first draft of the Recommendations formulated. After two rounds of Delphi expert consultations, the content of the Recommendations was revised and improved to form the final draft.
ResultsThe Recommendations included 7 parts, namely, pre-extracorporeal memberane oxygenation (ECMO) intubation assessment, team building, pre-filling care, intubation care, monitoring and care of ECMO treatment, observation and care of complications, and weaning care, with a total of 62 recommendations.
ConclusionsThe Recommendations is scientific and practical, and can provide guidance for clinical nursing practice of ECMO.
