Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the mediating effects of nursing information ability on transition shock and mental health in intern nursing students.
MethodsFrom November to December 2021, a total of 220 intern nursing students from 4 Grade A hospitals in Zhejiang province were selected as the research objects using the convenient sampling method. General data questionnaire, Nursing Practice Information Competency Assessment Scale, Transition Shock Scale for Undergraduate Nursing Students and General Health Questionnaire were used to investigate intern nursing students. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between nursing information ability, transition shock and mental health of intern nursing students. AMOS 21.0 was used to establish the structural equation model and verify the mediating effects. In this study 220 questionnaires were sent out and 212 were returned, and the effective recovery rate of the questionnaire was 96.36%.
ResultsThe mental health score of 212 nursing students was (12.78±3.76) , nursing information ability score was (58.73±9.75) , transition shock score was (52.67±8.53) . The results of structural equation model showed that transition shock directly predicted mental health (effect value was 0.417) , and nursing information ability played a mediating role between transition shock and mental health (effect value was 0.381) .
ConclusionsNursing information ability is the mediating variable on transition shock and mental health of intern nursing students. Nursing managers should take active measures to help intern nursing students reduce transition shock and improve nursing information ability, so as to enhance mental health level.
