Effect of Bifidobacteria mixture on children with lgE-mediated allergic rhinitis

Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of Bifidobacteria mixture on children with lgE-mediated allergic rhinitis.
MethodsA total of 110 children with allergic rhinitis admitted to Mengzhou people’s Hospital from October 2017 to October 2019 were divided into observation group and control group according to random namber table, with 55 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with Bifidobacteria mixture (B.longum BB536, B. infantis M-63, B. breve M-16V) and control group was treated with placebo for both 8 weeks. The clinical efficacy, symptom score, IgE, inflammatory factor such as (IL-10), transfoming growth factor β.(TGF-β1), T lymphocyte subsets (CD4+ CD25+ Treg/CD4+ ) and transcription factor Foxp3 expression level were compared before and after treatment.
ResultsThe total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the symptom score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Serum IgE and IL-10 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, while the expression levels of CD4+ CD25+ /CD4+ , Foxp3 mRNA and TGF-β1 in peripheral blood were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).
ConclusionsThe treatment of lgE-mediated allergic rhinitis by Bifidobacterium mixture can significantly reduce the levels of IgE and IL-10 in serum and increase the expression of TGF-β1, CD4+ CD25+ Treg cells and Foxp3+ mRNA in peripheral blood, Inhibiting allergic rhinitis progress.
