Effect of dapagliflozin combined with insulin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and its influence on blood glucose fluctuation

Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the effect of dapagliflozin combined with insulin on patients with type 2 diabetes and its influence on blood glucose fluctuations.
MethodA total of 94 patients with type 2 diabetes in Zhengzhou People's Hospital from August 2018 to July 2020 were randomly divided into two groups by digit table. Forty-seven cases in the control group were treated with insulin; and 47 cases in the observation group were treated with dapagliflozin on this basis. The blood glucose levels, blood glucose fluctuation indicators, insulin dosage and occurrence of hypoglycemia events were compared between the two groups at different time points.
ResultsAfter treatment, the blood glucose control level of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group (P<0.05) at all time points (before and after breakfast, lunch, dinner, 1 o'clock at night); after treatment, the levels of mean blood glucose(MBG), standard deviation of blood glucose level (SDBG), maximum blood glucose fluctuation range (LAGE), postprandial blood glucose fluctuation range (PPGE) were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); the insulin consumption of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05); there were no severe hypoglycemia events in the two groups.
ConclusionsCombining dapagliflozin on the basis of insulin therapy can improve the effect of blood glucose control, reduce blood glucose fluctuations, and reduce the amount of insulin, with good application effects.
