Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine ligation in the treatment of hemorrhoids.
MethodsA total of 116 patients with hemorrhoids treated in Shangqiu First People’s Hospital from November 2019 to November 2020 were selected and divided into study group and control group by the random number table method, with 58 cases in each group. The control group was given simple hemorrhoidectomy, and the study group was given traditional Chinese medicine ligation. The clinical effects, postoperative recovery, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores and colo-anarectal dynamics, such as rectum and anal canal inhibitory reflex threshold (AIRT), rectal maximum tolerated volume (MTV), anal canal maximum systolic pressure (MSP), were compared between the two groups.
ResultsThe total effective rate of the study group was 96.55% (56/58), higher than the 79.31% (46/58) of the control group (P<0.05). The degree of edema and the degree of anal swelling in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); while the duration of edema, and the duration of anal swelling in the study group were shorter than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group at 6 h, the first bowel movement, and 3 days after the operation, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with those before operation, AIRT in both groups increased, MTV and MSP decreased 1 month after operation (P<0.05). AIRT in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and MTV and MSP were higher than those in the control group 1 month after operation (P<0.05).
ConclusionsThe treatment of hemorrhoids with traditional Chinese medicine ligation can improve the clinical effect, reduce postoperative pain, accelerate the postoperative recovery process of patients, and reduce the impact on anorectal dynamics.
