Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the application value of medium frequency therapeutic apparatus combined with suspension training in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
MethodsEighty-four patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy treated in Xuchang Hospital from April 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research subjects. And they were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group received suspension training, and the observation group was treated by medium frequency therapeutic apparatus based on the treatment of the control group. The patients in both groups were treated for 8 weeks continuously. The cervical mobility (extension, flexion, bilateral rotation), cervical recovery assessed by neck pain questionnaires (NPQ) and visual analogue scale (VAS), and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.
ResultsAfter 8 weeks of intervention, the activities of extension, flexion and bilateral rotation of patients in both groups were greater than those before intervention, and these indexes in the observation group were greater than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After 8 weeks of intervention, the scores of NPQ and VAS of both groups were lower than those before intervention, and scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in the observation group (2.38%, 1/42) was lower than that in the control group (19.05%, 8/42), P<0.05.
ConclusionsThe medium frequency therapeutic apparatus combined with suspension training can improve the activity of cervical spine in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, promote the recovery of cervical spine function, and reduce the occurrence of complications.
