Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of sandplay on anxiety disorder in children and adolescents.
MethodsA total of 100 children and adolescents with anxiety disorder admitted to Taiyuan Central Hospital from April 2019 to April 2022 were selected, and they were divided into control group and observation group by dichromatic sphere method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional drugs, while the observation group was treated with conventional drugs combined with sandplay. The clinical efficacy and treatment compliance of the two groups were compared. The anxiety symptom scores assessed by Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMD), and quality of life scores assessed by inventory of subjective life quality (ISLQ) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
ResultsThe total effective rate (94.00%, 47/50) and treatment compliance (94.00%, 47/50) of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (74.00%, 37/50; 72.00%, 36/50), both P<0.05. Before treatment, there was no significant difference in HAMD scores between the two groups (P>0.05); after 2, 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, the HAMD scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (all P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in ISLQ score between the two groups (P>0.05); after 8 weeks of treatment, the ISLQ score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the observation group (10.00%, 5/50) and the control group (14.00%, 7/50), P>0.05.
ConclusionsDrug therapy combined with sandplay in the treatment of anxiety disorder in children and adolescents can improve treatment compliance, alleviate anxiety symptoms, promote prognosis and quality of life, with high safety.
