Abstract
ObjectiveComparing the basal arch width at different positions in posterior arch.
MethodsThirty cases of Angle Class Ⅱ and Class Ⅲ patients were selected. The plaster models were scanned by 3Shape scanner to obtain digital models. The initial digital model served as control group T0; simulating tooth movement to get Class I relationship by the 3Shape software generated progress digital models as study group(T1, T2, T3). The width analysis method of the alveolar ridge center was used to measure the width of the digital models between the control group and the study group. Statistical analysis was performed by SPSS 22.0.
ResultsIn Class Ⅱ and Ⅲ cases, the measurement results of between the study group and the control group were statistically significant (P<0.01), but the three study groups showed no statistically significant (P>0.05); There is a linear correlation between the sagittal movement of the first molar and the change in the width of the upper-lower alveolar base bones. Class Ⅱ is a negative linear correlation with a correlation coefficient of -0.83. Class Ⅲ is a positive linear correlation with a correlation coefficient of 0.938.
ConclusionsThere are differences in the measurement results of the maxillary and mandibular basal bone at different sagittal position of the molars.
