Abstract
Pyruvate, as an intermediate metabolite of glycolysis, has a wide range of biological, pharmacological and clinical value.A large number of animal studies have shown that sodium pyruvate can reduce mitochondrial damage, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation, inhibit cell apoptosis and correct lactic acid acidosis in the pathophysiological process of hypoxic injury caused by various reasons, so as to protect the brain, kidney, digestive tract and other important organ functions. In this paper, the above effects of pyruvate and its possible mechanism were briefly reviewed, and the application value of pyruvate in drug resuscitation of various major wars and trauma was prospected.
