Clinical application of herba leonuri in kidney disease and its side effects

Abstract
Herba leonuri, which has the efficacy of promoting blood flow, diuresis, and detumescence, is widely used in chronic kidney disease to improve clinical symptoms and protect renal functions. This article started from the application of herba leonuri in kidney diseases and its related adverse reactions, introduced the understanding of adverse reactions of herba leonuri by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and modern pharmacology, and analyzed the influencing factors of adverse reactions, including dosage, processing method, and drug matching detail. Besides, the usage, dosage and compatibility of herba leonuri were also summarized in order to standardize its clinical use.
