Abstract
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has become one of the global disease burdens with high morbidity and high mortality. In addition to traditional bronchodilators, glucocorticoids, antibiotics and other therapeutic measures, new prevention and treatment measures and therapeutic targets need to be developed urgently. In recent years, with the development of gene sequencing technology, more progress has been made in the study of COPD airway microbiota. This article will review the characteristics of the airway microbiota of COPD and its correlation with COPD, the mechanism of airway microbiota affecting the occurrence and development of COPD, the effects of smoking and glucocorticoids on COPD airway microbiota, and the application of microbial-related therapies in the treatment of COPD, so as to provide new ideas of microbial-based targeted therapy for the prevention and treatment of COPD.
