Analysis of the curative effect of sodium hyaluronate combined with compound betamethasone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the curative effect of sodium hyaluronate combined with compound betamethasone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA).
MethodsA total of 420 outpatients with knee osteoarthritis admitted and treated in Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital from May 2016 to March 2017 were divided into control group and experimental group by the random number table method. The control group was given weekly intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate injection 2 ml for 5 weeks, and the experimental group was given compound betamethasone injection 1 ml at the 1st week and 3rd week on the basis of the control group. Curative effect was evaluated by the WOMAC score and VAS score in the two group 1 week, 3 weeks, 5 weeks after treatment and 1 week, 3 weeks, 5 weeks after withdrawal.
ResultsThe WOMAC score and VAS score of the experimental group were obviously lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05); there were no statistically significant differences in WOMAC score and VAS score between the two groups 1 week, 3 weeks, 5 weeks after withdrawal (P>0.05).
ConclusionThe effect of the combination of sodium hyaluronate and compound betamethasone is faster than that of sodium hyaluronate, but the curative effect is transitory.
