Abstract
ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of thunder fire moxibustion for senile pneumonia.
MethodsSixty elderly patients with pneumonia treated in our hospital from July, 2018 to June, 2019 were selected, and were numbered in the admission order. The patients were divided into a control group and an observation group through the method of random number table, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given basic treatment of anti-infection with western medicine and resolving phlegm; in addition, the observation group was given 1-2 courses treatment of thunder fire moxibustion. The TCM syndrome scores, disappearance times for clinical symptoms, and serum inflammatory factor levels were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.
ResultsThe TCM syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The disappeared times for clinical symptoms in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (allP<0.05). There were no statistical differences in WBC and CRP levels between the two groups after treatment (bothP>0.05). The effective rates of the observation group and the control group were 96.7% and 93.3%, respectively, with a statistical difference (P<0.05).
ConclusionThunder fire moxibustion in the treatment of senile pneumonia is clinically effective, and can relieve the patients’ symptoms and improve the treatment effect and the patients’ recovery.
