Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of behavioral Transition Theory Model (TTM) intervention on Intensive Care Units Environmental Stressor Scale (ICUESS) and coping style in ICU conscious patients.
MethodsA total of 106 patients with ICU (all conscious) from April 2017 to April 2019 were enrolled. The patients were divided into experimental group (n=53) and control group (n=53) according to the order of admission. The control group received routine intervention, and the experimental group performed TTM intervention on the basis of routine intervention, all intervention for 3 months. The satisfaction of intervention was compared between the two groups after 3 months of intervention. Before intervention, after 3 months of intervention, ICUESS score, negative mood score 〔Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS)〕, Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ) and Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale (ESCA) score were compared.
ResultsAfter 3 months of intervention, the ICUESS score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, and the ESCA score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After 3 months of intervention, SDS and SAS scores in both groups were lower than before intervention, and the experimental group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After 3 months of intervention, the avoidance and yield scores of the MCMQ scale in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, while the face scores of the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After 3 months of intervention, the nursing satisfaction of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
ConclusionsThe application of TTM intervention in ICU awake patients can significantly reduce ICUESS score, reduce the pressure and negative emotions in the ICU environment, improve the coping style, and enhance the self-care ability and nursing satisfaction.
Key words:
