Abstract
ObjectiveTo compare the two methods of nasal septum mattress suture combined with indwelling vent pipe and simple nasal septum mattress suture after nasal septum deviation correction, and hope find the most comfortable method for patients undergone nasal septum deviation correction.
MethodsEighty patients undergone nasal septum deviation correction, inferior concha rhinoplasty and plasma perforation ablation were divided into a suture & indwelling vent pipe group and a simple suture group. Forty patients in the suture & indwelling vent pipe group underwent conventional nasal septum correction, inferior turbinates fracture displacement and plasma perforation ablation, and home-made vent pipe was indwelling in bilateral nasal cavity after nasal septum mattress suture. Forty patients in the simple suture group underwent nasal septum mattress suture, inferior turbinates fracture displacement and plasma perforation ablation after nasal septum deviation correction, and there was nothing in bilateral nasal cavity after operation. Nasal bleeding, nasal ventilation function, headache, weep, sleep quality, thirst, dysphagia, and VAS scores of pain and bleeding when changing medicine and extracting indwelling vent pipe after operation were compared between the two groups, and the conditions such as whether there were nasal bleeding again, septum perforation, septum hematoma and adhesion of nasal cavity were recorded during subsequent visit.
ResultsIn the three aspects of nasal ventilation function, thirst and difficulty sleeping after operation, the mean values of VAS scores in the suture & indwelling vent pipe group were all less than that in the simple suture group( P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in the four aspects of bleeding, headache, weep and dysphagia(P>0.05). Also, there was no significant difference in the pain and bleeding between the indwelling vent pipe group when extracting the stuffing and the sample suture group when changing the medicine after operation.
ConclusionsNasal septum mattress suture without indwelling vent pipe makes patients pain after operation, the reactive edema of nasal membrana mucosa and turbinates after operation makes nasal ventilation function poor, however, indwelling vent pipe after operation can effectively improve patients' nasal obstruction, thirst and difficulty sleeping, and increase their comfort, which has obvious curative effect and is worth popularizing.
