Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of continuous nursing based on Internet information platform combined with Omaha system on self-care ability of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) .
MethodsA total of 106 elderly COPD patients who were admitted to Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from April 2019 to December 2020 were selected by the convenient sampling method. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 53 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given routine continuous nursing, while patients in the observation group were given continuous nursing based on Internet information platform combined with Omaha system. Patients in both groups were followed up for 3 months after discharge. Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale (ESCA) was used to evaluate the self-care ability of patients of the two groups before the intervention, 1 month after the intervention and 3 months after the intervention. And the treatment compliance and nursing satisfaction of the two groups of patients were collected.
ResultsAfter intervention, self-care skills, self-responsibility, self-concept, health knowledge levels and total score, treatment compliance and nursing satisfaction of patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at 1 and 3 months after intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) .
ConclusionsContinuous nursing based on Internet information platform combined with Omaha system can improves self-care ability, patient compliance and nursing satisfaction in elderly COPD patients.
