Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between scientific research ability and critical thinking ability of nurses of Operating Room in a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital in Beijing.
MethodsFrom April to May 2021, a cluster of 121 professional nurses in the Operating Room of Peking University First Hospital was selected as the research object by purpose sampling. The nurses were surveyed by questionnaire. The Chinese version of the Critical Thinking Ability Measurement Form (CDDI-CV) and the Scientific Research Ability Self-evaluation Rating Scale of Nursing Staff were edited through Questionnaire Star to form a complete online questionnaire, which was distributed and recovered based on the WeChat platform. Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the scores of each dimension of critical thinking ability of nurses in Operating Room and the scores of each dimension of scientific research ability. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of scientific research ability of nurses in Operating Room. A total of 121 questionnaires were distributed, and 121 valid questionnaires were recovered, with a valid recovery rate of 100.00%.
ResultsThe total score of scientific research ability of professional nurses in Operating Room was 56 (34, 63) , which was at a low medium level. The total score of critical thinking ability was 232 (215, 252) , which was at the critical level of positive and negative. Spearman correlation analysis showed that the total score of critical thinking ability was positively correlated with the ability to discover problems in scientific research ability (P<0.01) , and truth seeking, open thinking and cognitive maturity were positively correlated with the total score of scientific research ability (P<0.01) , and self-confidence and intellectual curiosity were negatively correlated with the total score of scientific research ability (P<0.05) . Multiple linear regression analysis showed that thirst for knowledge was the negative influencing factor of the scientific research ability total score of nurses in Operating Room (P<0.05) .
ConclusionsThe scientific research ability and critical thinking ability of the nurses in the Operating Room of the ClassⅢ Grade A hospital were relatively low. Nurses' critical thinking ability was positively correlated with scientific research problem discovery ability, truth seeking, open thinking and cognitive maturity were positively correlated with the scientific research ability, self-confidence and intellectual curiosity were negatively correlated with the scientific research ability. It is suggested to explore the clinical scientific research level system of professional nurses in the Operating Room, and carry out hierarchical training and formative evaluation in a targeted manner.
