Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the application effect of PDCA cycle nursing management method in the prevention and control of nosocomial infection.
MethodsA total of 73 patients hospitalized in Tengzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2020 to May 2022 were collected as the research objects. According to the different nursing management methods, they were divided into the control group with 35 cases (received routine nursing management method) and the observation group with 38 cases (received PDCA cycle nursing management method). The nosocomial infection rate, combined use of antibiotics, nursing quality, packaging quality, sterilization and disinfection quality score, medical staff theory, operation and hand hygiene assessment were compared between the two groups.
ResultsThe total infection rate of the observation group was 10.53%, the total infection rate of the control group was 42.86%, the total infection rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The proportion of patients using 2, 3 or more antibacterial drugs in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the proportion of patients using 1 antibacterial drug was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The nursing quality, packaging quality and sterilization quality scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The pass rates of theoretical knowledge, practical operation and hand hygiene in the observation group were 85.71%, 91.43% and 97.14%, which were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).
ConclusionsPDCA cycle nursing management method can improve the awareness and ability of hospital infection prevention and control of medical staff, improve the medical environment, standardize the utilization rate of antibiotics, effectively reduce the incidence of nosocomial infection, and improve the quality of hospital management.
