Abstract
Objective This study examines the clinical effects of transplantation of the skull bone autograft after cryopreservation. Method The study group consisted of 89 patients. There are 51 cases males and 38 cases females in the gruup. 71 craniocerebral injury,7 hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage,5 brain tumer,3 aneurysm and 3 post γ-knife therapy patients. We preserved their skull bone flaps without periosteum at a low temperature and transplanted them back at a suitable time. Results None of the eases experienced rejection and intection. 79 cases were heal, subcutaneous effusion developed in 10 cases. Bone flaps were depressed in 3 and 3 cases who had seizure disorder prior to the repair improved after the surgery. In follow-up studies, all patients' skull curvature recovered well after the repair surgery. The resistance topressure locally at the repair site was very good. X-ray, CT and ECT studies also proved that all the flaps had healed well without any sign of necrosis. Conclusions The transplantation of a patient's own bone flap after cryopreservation is close to the normal skull and is superior to other material.
