The application of comfort scale to the personalized nursing of otolaryngology patients

Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the influencing factors for the comfort of otolaryngology patients, so as to provide references for the personalized nursing measures.
MethodsA total of 82 inpatients of otolaryngology department were investigated by the Kolcaba comfort scale, and the scores of the following four dimensions, including physical, phsychological spirit, social culture and environment were analyzed .Xi<Xi-Si and <Xi-2Si were adopted to identify the individualized-nursing-targeted inpatients and key targeted inpatients and then the targeted measures were implemented.
ResultsAccording to the Kolcaba comfort scale, the social-culture dimension among the four dimensions of comfort degree of the inpatients in otolaryngology department was high, while the comfort degree of mental, physical and environmental dimension were low.The number of patients with scores of dimensions less than Xi-Si and Xi-2Si was 12, 20, 11, 10 and 3, 0, 4, 3 respectively.
ConclusionsThe Kolcaba comfort scale can assess the inpatients' comfort degree comprehensively and objectively, which is helpful for the implementation of individualized nursing measures, and meanwhile it can improve the inpatients' comfort degree and satisfaction.
