Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the application effect of the Barthel Index Rating Scale in the rehabilitation of middle-aged and elderly patients with hypertension and stroke in the concept of general practice.
MethodsA total of 110 middle-aged and elderly patients with hypertension and stroke admitted to the Second Wuxi Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from January 2017 to December 2018 were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, with 55 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were received routine clinical care and health education, while the patients in the intervention group were given rehabilitation care under the Barthel Index Rating Scale. The blood pressure level, neurological function, limb motor function and activities of daily living were compared before and after treatment in the two groups.
ResultsThe DBP and SBP levels of the two groups were decreased in the 3 months after the nursing. The neurological function and limb motor function of the two groups were improved 3 months after the treatment, and the improvement effect of the intervention group was better than that of the control group.Compared with pre-treatment, the MBI scores of activities of daily living were increased in the two groups after 3 months of nursing, and the intervention group was higher than the control group , and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).
ConclusionsBased on the Barthel Index Rating Scale, the application of the Barthel Index Rating Scale is effective in the rehabilitation of middle-aged and elderly patients with hypertension and stroke. It can regulate the patient's blood pressure level, promote the recovery of the patient's neurological function and limb motor function, enhance the patient's ability of daily life activities, and thus improve the patient's daily life quality.
