Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effects of co-participation of obstetric nurses assisting family members in family perinatal care on the psychological status and coping styles of primiparas.
MethodsA total of 110 first-time parturients admitted to Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University from September 2020 to September 2021 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into observation group (57 cases) and control group (53 cases) according to simple random method. The control group was given routine perinatal care, while the observation group was given family perinatal care by co-participation of obstetric nurses assisting family members. The psychological status 〔Pregnancy Pressure Scale (PPS), Chinese Version of Childbirth Fear Prior to Pregnancy (CFPP), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS)〕, self-efficacy 〔Chinese version of Childbirth Self-Efficacy Inventory-32 (CBSEI-32)〕, coping styles 〔Medical Coping Mode Questionnaire (MCMQ)〕and the accuracy rate of neonatal care were compared between the two groups before and after two weeks of intervention.
ResultsAfter two weeks of intervention, PPS scores, CFPP scores, SAS scores and SDS scores were significantly decreased in both groups, outcome efficacy, expected efficacy and total score were significantly increased in CBSEI-32 scores, face scores were significantly increased in MCMQ scores, avoidance and yield scores were significantly decreased. After 2 weeks of intervention, there were statistically significant differences among the above indexes. The correct rates of neonatal stroking, neonatal bath and neonatal umbilical cord nursing in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).
ConclusionsObstetrical nurses assisting family members to participate in family perinatal care is conducive to improving the mental state of primiparas, enhancing self-efficacy, correcting coping styles, and helping primiparas to improve their newborn care ability.
