Abstract
At present, malignant tumors are still a serious threat to human health and life, and the expression level of small ribonucleic acid (microRNAs, miRNAs) is closely related to the occurrence and development of a variety of tumors, which can play a promoting or inhibiting role in the occurrence of a variety of tumors. As a member of the miR-200 family, the abnormal expression of microRNA-429 (miR-429) can lead to the occurrence of various tumors, promoting or inhibiting tumor cell invasion, migration, epithelial-mesenchymal transition and drug resistance.Depending on the different types of tumor cells and tissues, miR-429 may function specifically as a terminator or promoter for certain tumors. The mechanism of miR-429 is complex, which can produce different effects in different tumor cells and tissues, can inhibit tumorigenesis and promote tumorigenesis, and also shows contradictory effects in some tumors. This review summarizes the relationship of miR-429 with malignancy and the underlying mechanism of action and analyzes the significance of miR-429 as a biomarker for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of certain tumors.
