Abstract
Invasive candidiasis presents with high incidence in critically ill patients. Due to its atypical manifestation, the diagnosis and treatment is often delayed, which contributes to its high mortality. In addition, the distribution of Candida species is changing by years, and Candida non-albicans has become more prevalent than Candida albicans. The consisting changes in the distribution of Candida species and drug resistance lead to difficulties in the antifungal therapy. The current epidemiology and pathogenic distribution of invasive candidiasis in China are summarized in this paper, aiming to assist early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
