Abstract
Objective To improve follicular unit-like wigs, and observe the histocompatibility after transplantation. Methods Medical polycaprolactone matrix of hairpiece was processed into follicular unit-like wig grafts and transplanted into the scalp of New Zealand white rabbits as experimental group. The scalp of New Zealand white rabbits was transplanted with the polypropylenc matrix of hairpieces control group. The samples were regularly collected for Hematoxylin eosin staining to evaluate the histocompatibility, and the inflammatory cells were counted and compared. Results At 1 st week after transplantation, milder inflammatory cell infiltration was observed around wig implants in experiment group and the number of inflammatory cells was significantly less than that in control group (122.67 ±4.55 vs.143.33 ± 16.42,P < 0.05).With decreasing number of inflammatory cells over time, more and more fibroblasts and collagen fibers were emerged.Wig grafts remained good histocompatibility. There was no significant difference in the inflammatory cell count between two groups(at 1 month:84.33 ± 12.21 vs.75.00 ±9.65,P >0.05 ; at6 months:l1.00 ±2.19 vs.10.17 ±2.31,P>0.05).Conclusion Improved follicular unit-like wig has good histocompatibility without obvious adverse reactions.
