Expression and clinical significance of pleomorphic adenoma gene-like protein 2 in prostate cancer tissue

Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate expression of PLAGL2 in prostate cancer tissue and analyze its relationship with clinical and pathological characteristics.
MethodsFrom May 2016 to August 2017, 100 cases of patients with prostate cancer who were treated in our hospital were selected, expression of PLAGL2 in prostate cancer tissues and adjacent tissues was detected with SP, and expressive levels of PLAGL2 were contrasted between prostate cancer tissues and adjacent tissues, and relationship of PLAGL2 with clinical and pathological characteristics in prostate cancer tissue were analyzed.
ResultsPLAGL2 was mainly expressed in cytoplasm of prostate cancer and adjacent tissues. Positive expression rate of PLAGL2 was 85.0% in prostate cancer and was 18% in adjacent tissues, positive expression rate of PLAGL2 was higher in prostate cancer tissues than in adjacent tissues(χ2=89.861, P<0.001), and univariate analysis showed that differentiation of prostate cancer, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, PSA level and nerve infiltration were related factors of PLAGL2 expression.Logistic multivariate analysis showed that lymph node metastasis was an independent factor of PLAGL2 positive expression in prostate cancer patients.
ConclusionsThe positive expression rate of PLAGL2 in patients with prostate cancer is high, and it is related to lymph node metastasis. The detection of PLAGL2 is helpful for the evaluation of the disease.
