Abstract
ObjectiveTo evaluate the relationship of the expression of p53, Ki-67 and bladder cancer stage and grade.
MethodsRetrospective analysis of the clinical data of 445 patients with bladder cancer in our hospital and the second hospital of Tianjin medical university was performed. The expression intensity of p53 and Ki-67 in specimens from 445 patients of bladder cancer was studied by means of immunohistochemistry. The results were analyzed in relation to the tumor stage and grade.
ResultsIn 445 cases of bladder cancer patients, p53 were examined in 435 patients, Ki-67 were examined in 440 patients. On Spearman rank correlation analysis, the higher expressions of p53 and Ki-67, the higher pathological grading and clinical staging of bladder cancer in patients(P<0.05), the correlation coefficients of them in relation to pathological grading were 0.298, 0.181, and the correlation coefficients of them in relation to clinical staging were 0.143, 0.103, all positive correlations.
ConclusionsThe expression intensities of p53 and Ki-67 are closely related to bladder cancer pathological grading and clinical staging, the higher expressions of p53 and Ki-67, the higher pathological grading and clinical staging of bladder cancer in patients.
