Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the effect of quality control circle (QCC) in reducing failure rate of arterial blood sampling.
MethodsA total of 83 patients (control group) who underwent arterial blood sampling before the implementation of QCC were randomly selected, and 87 patients (observation group) who underwent arterial blood sampling after the implementation of QCC were randomly selected. The failure rate of arterial blood sampling and patient satisfaction were analyzed before and after the implementation of QCC.
ResultsBefore the implementation of QCC, the failure rate of arterial blood sampling was 22.89% (19/83); after the implementation of QCC, the failure rate of arterial blood sampling was 6.90% (6/87); there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The scores of patient satisfaction and treatment compliance of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).
ConclusionQCC activity can effectively improve the success rate of arterial blood sampling and patient satisfaction, is helpful to improve the quality of care of nursing staff, with remarkable effect, worthy of clinical promotion.
